MISS FLORIDA TEEN 2010NAME: Alyssa Rivera TITLE: Miramar , Florida NICKNAME: AllyPLACE OF BIRTH: Staten Island, NYHard work and perseverance has helped Alyssa earn the coveted title of Miss Florida Teen USA 2010. As a prominent titleholder in our state, she plans to bring home the title of Miss Teen USA next summer. The Miss Florida Teen USA Pageant is produced by Tel-Air Interests. Alyssa is the daughter of Puerto Rican natives, is well-known in her community for being a talented singer and a full blown performer. Her passion for singing began at the age of eight and she has grown to excel in the arts ever since. Alyssa currently attends Archbishop McCarthy High School in Ft. Lauderdale where she is majoring in Drama. She was recently chosen to participate in an intense and selective Broadway Training Camp in New York City. At the camp, Alyssa had the opportunity to perform off-Broadway and worked alongside prominent Broadway performers and recording artists. Alyssa has also performed in Levittown, Puerto Rico and was given the Citizenship Award during her visit. Being a talented teenager is only the beginning; Alyssa has released her song on ITUNES and is always in the studio working on new songs. She recently released her second song where she is a featured artist with El Kynto Elemento titled Its Over. Her first single titled Im Not That Girl embodies her bi-lingual music with a flare of reggaeton and pop sounds. Being a two year veteran in pageantry, Alyssa has become aware that her community contributions can impact her fellow youth while also bringing light to important social issues. She has made several local appearances to speak about the importance of HIV and AIDS awareness within the Latino youth. She also started an organization called Alys Angelz that collects cocktail dresses so that young ladies may compete in pageants without incurring additional costs. As the director of the Junior Orange Bowl Broward Preliminary Pageant, Alyssa hosts classes on etiquette, public speaking and interviewing skills. Her work with pageants paid off when she was featured on the cover of Pageantry Magazines Spring 2009 Prom Time issue. PRESS
